Back in the fall, I made a series of posts about our kitchen remodel. But since we quickly moved into the kitchen barely after the paint had dried, I never posted any pictures of the completed project. Here are a few snaps I took today, along with links to the older posts. Lots of good info provided by Oppo members in the comments. The curtains are still a holdover from the old kitchen. We haven’t found any we like, and will probably have some made at some point.  !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! a link to a gallery of the entire project. Not surprisingly, the password is “Kitchen”.

Thanks. We’re happy with it. There are some things that are niggling, but not with the build. The new Bosch dishwasher is kind of lame, though it is quiet. The sink is too deep, and the faucet doesn’t reach far enough into the sink. The French Door fridge is not ideal. But these are all small things. Having so much more counter space and storage is awesome. We can’t fill all the cabinets.

Thanks! I’m guessing that “chido” is good?

Looks really good.

Thanks. It’s kind of hard to get the color right in the photos. The wall isn’t quite as blue as it seems. It’s actually got hints of green in it. Great color, chosen by our flooring rep. I picked the lighting.

A backsplash would really complete the look.

We opted against that. Couldn’t decide what we liked, and decided that we liked the simplicity of the short backsplash.

I think a recycled glass backsplash would look great in that kitchen.

I don’t know about fancy, but certainly more modern and more trim than the original. We skipped the under cabinet lighting. That would be fancy.

Perhaps, but there’s not much room for one as it is.

Yeah, choosing what to use would be difficult with the white cabinets.. It would almost have to be a white tile to not make it look too busy.

Exactly. We didn’t want to put something up just to put something up. We decided we’d rather decorate with some accent trivets or tiles, as you see in the photo. Then we’re not locked into something we don’t end up liking. And we can always add something later.

Nah, were stuck with these for a while. Don’t ask me about my shitty new washing machine.

Good job! It looks like a very sensible layout with good storage, and a gas range FTW!

I have had electric, and will never go back. If you look at the before and after pictures at the link, you’ll see just how much more room our kitchen designer found. It’s pretty amazing. (Lots of) money well spent.

After thinking about it, I think some broken white ceramic tile would look bitching. Use the cheap plain white square tiles, break them up with a hammer, and arrange the pieces randomly. Don’t place the pieces  perfectly flat, give them some texture.

Would be hard to grout, but would look neat.

Good idea. Lots of work. Mrs. Ttyymmnn will have final say on this one.
